Complementary Boxes

This image started off at just 49 boxes, 12pt apart from each other. I began by selecting all 7 columns and filled the the background with the colors in the rainbow. Next I went in to each of the squares and used the shape tool to make each shape. I choose complementary colors to correspond with the colored boxes. After each of the boxes was filled with a colored shape, I removed all strokes. Next I created a new layer and made a bigger canvas. I copied the first 49 boxes, pasted and reflected the image horizontally. By using command G I was able to group the 98 boxes together and reflect those vertically.
